Bachelor of Veterinary Science

Having graduated from James Cook University in 2018, my husband and I moved to Adelaide with our two dogs and two cats, for a great adventure and a fresh start. After a scorching Summer and a frosty Winter, we decided tropical Mackay was a much better place to plant roots and grow professionally; and I moved back to join the Stabler and Howlett team.

Growing up in Central Queensland and the Mackay region, I spent much of my childhood on my grandparent’s cattle property where my love for both companion and production animals was cultivated. For me, the best part of being a veterinarian is getting to witness and foster the bond between people and their pets; being a part of that journey throughout all stages of life is truly a privilege. As a graduate, I am still refining my professional interests, although I do enjoy clinical pathology and small animal medicine (especially dermatology), as well as production animal herd health.

At home, I am vastly outnumbered by my furry family. When they aren’t sunbaking, my two beautiful Bull Arab X girls, Audrey and Ruby, are surprisingly good at stand up paddleboarding and love running at the beach. Their feline sidekicks, Tiddy and Bongo, are ginger balls of mischief whose interests include escaping, sleeping, and scratching furniture that doesn’t belong to them.

In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, camping and stand up paddleboarding, but am also partial to a good book and a cup of tea.
