Having grown up on a cattle property, animals were always a big part of my life from the very beginning. While I think that’s what started it all, my love for working with people as well as my love for having a problem to solve played a big part in becoming a veterinarian.
For me, I look forward to spending my day with people, especially people who love their pets. We have fantastic clients who always brighten my day at Stabler and Howlett.
I’m a self-proclaimed crazy cat lady, however Willow has been an ‘only cat’ for long enough that she’s grown quite attached to it and would be very upset with me if I got another kitten. So Willow and I compromised and brought home little Moxxi, a Dachshund. Moxxi doesn’t understand why Willow won’t play tug with her, but otherwise they get along well.
When I’m not at work I love the water. I love a day on the beach or waterskiing, and I’m a licenced scuba diver. I also spend some time losing at chess, but prefer winning at cards when I get the chance to visit my family. Since being at Stabler and Howlett I have been given many opportunities to grow and learn, including a course to improve my ultrasound skills and a feline medicine conference to help ensure I can diagnose and treat the cats I love so much even better. I have also gotten the chance to get out and meet our large animal clients and their animals, which is one of my favourite parts of the job.
