Each day is interesting, and I love being a part of your animal’s story, from their first vaccinations through to geriatric care.’
After graduating in 2012, I completed a small animal internship at Veterinary Specialist Services. In 2014, I moved back to my hometown of Mackay and I’ve been working with the Stabler and Howlett team ever since.
I gain a deep sense of satisfaction when I see an animal run out to their family after being in hospital, and I feel lucky to be a part of maintaining that special bond between owner and pet. As I’m particularly interested in canine and feline medicine, I really enjoy applying the skills I learnt in specialist practice within this field.
When I’m at home, I love spending time with my four-legged animals. Henrietta, my Labrador, is loyal and kind-hearted, although she does have a bad habit of chewing unsupervised shoes. She currently loves long walks and regular swims, which is great because she needs to shed a few extra pounds. Oggie became part of the family soon after I started working at Stabler and Howlett. He enjoys getting involved in farm life by day, and the luxury of his comfy bed at night.
Apart from spending time with my dogs or large, extended family, I love being active. Right now I’m really enjoying water-skiing, kayaking and dance classes. I’m also happy taking things easy, like relaxing with a cup of tea and a good book on a rainy day.
