My favourite part of being a nurse is watching an animal go home after a long stay – seeing their tail wag as they jump into their car is the best!’
I started working with the Stabler and Howlett team in 2014, and immediately fell in love with vet nursing. After going on to achieve my Certificate II in Animal Studies in 2015, I’m currently studying to complete my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
I really enjoy helping with any birds and pocket pets such as rats and guinea pigs that visit the clinic. I also enjoy learning how to care for our native wildlife (did you know a goanna’s heart is in the middle of their abdomen?), and enabling them to return to their natural habitat.
If you’re one of our Glenden clients, you’ll see me at the clinic on the 2nd Thursday of each month. I really enjoy looking after this clinic – getting to know all the familiar faces and building relationships with our clients, makes my job extremely rewarding. I also love being able to handle horses and cattle on a regular basis on these trips.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my friends and workmates, or just chilling out with my fur family at home. I have Diesel, an English Bull Terrier (3 years) and Georgie, who was a stray Domestic Short Hair brought into the clinic as a kitten. These two are the best of friends because Diesel is so placid, while Georgie constantly longs for attention from him. They’re a cute couple!
